The Odette pattern is a mock-wrap style dress with a bias cut, full circle skirt and detailed dart features on the bodice and sleeve.
The Odette can also be made in a peplum style blouse and bias cut skirt version.
This pattern also caters to size 6-24 as well as:
- 2 bra cup sizes (A-C cup size and D-G cup size)
- 3 torso lengths (short, average and long)
- 2 skirt lengths (knee and midi length.)
RECOMMENDED FABRIC AND SUPPLIES
Fabric - The Odette pattern can be made in any variety of fabric. We always suggest a beautiful linen. Gingham or striped fabrics look particularly striking as they show the dart details by manipulating the print direction. You’ll also need half a metre of fusing if you’re making the skirt.
*** Please note that the bodice is lined.
Thread - You will need one large spool of thread for sewing and four spools of thread for overlocking
Zipper Foots - An invisible zipper foot and normal zipper foot will be necessary.
Tools - You can use a domestic sewing machine. If desired, you can use a domestic overlocking machine to neaten your raw edges. An awl for marking dart/tuck points is also very handy so you don’t have to mark your fabric pieces with chalk.
Notions - You’ll also need a 1 metre of 1cm elastic, iron, ironing board, sharp pair of scissors and pins. A 35cm invisible zip is required. Ensure you choose a colour that matches your chosen fabric. A hook and eye closure is recommended for the top of your zip closure.
