Tessuti Florence Coat Fabric Godmother

Description

This long-line, oversized, unlined coat has a relaxed style and features a collarless neckline with stitched down facing, dropped shoulders, patch pockets and full-length sleeves with turned back cuffs. The coat front sits edge-to-edge without overlap, making it the perfect lightweight layering piece for the autumn/winter months.

Recommended fabrics: boiled or felted wools that do not fray when cut

UPDATE - *To make the Florence Coat pattern with pockets, download pocket/pocket lining pattern pieces (4 pages to print on home printer) and sewing instructions for woven Florence Coat here. Please also note that you will need to allow for an extra 20cm fabric meterage.

Pattern Details.

Sizes included: (AUS sizing) Size Petite (6-8), Size 1 (10-12), Size 2 (size 14-16), Size 3 (18-20) and Size 4 (20-22) 

Notions: thread, 1.20m tear-away Vilene. FOR WOVEN VERSION *add 1.25m x lightweight interfacing, 1.50m x 12-15mm bias binding (woven version only)

Sewing level for this pattern: suitable for all sewing levels.

    This is a lovely pattern and is exactly what I was looking for. It is simplicity itself to make but is an excellent cut so the finished article looks stylish and expensive. It sits nicely on the shoulders and with nice, roomy sleeves, is an ideal autumn/winter coat to throw on over a chunky sweater. I made it in mustard boiled wool which looks great over black trousers and sweater. I am a UK size 12 and made it in the Small size. It is a very generous cut though so next time (and there will be a next time!) I will make it in the Petite size. I think it will be fabulous in Winter White.
