Welcome to your September 2024 Dream Wardrobe.
UK SIZES 6-30
When the weather starts to chill and the nights are drawing in, we want to brighten up the days with a warm but stunning statement jacket. We feel every wardrobe needs the perfect puffer jacket, and what better than the Fibre Mood Avril Jacket in our brand new and exclusive Maggie puffer fabric?
About the fabric:
This puffer fabric is brand new for us, but it is our stunning Maggie print with a plain navy fabric on the reverse. It is water resistant, so it is perfect for short autumnal showers.
No need to pre-wash this fabric.
This fabric would also work well for:
Papercut Patterns Emmi Jacket available to 3 size ranges 6-20 or 16-34
This cropped, casual jacket has attitude—and that’s especially true when you’re wearing it! Avril features a standing collar, a hidden button placket, and unique sleeves and cuffs. The gusseted patch pockets have a button flap. Want an edgier look? Leave the buttons off the flap.
If you’d like more volume in the jacket, there’s a drawstring waist option.

Josie’s sewing Notes:
- I made a size Medium; I didn’t do the pockets or the drawstring around the bottom.
- Seam allowance is included on your printed pattern - this is 1cm. You do not need to add this to the pattern.
- I used a size 12 /80 needle throughout, apart from the collar. I chose a heavier needle as it was going through so many layers.
- I found clips better than pins in some places. I found using 2 sizes helpful.
- Long pins are also helpful for getting through all layers (like our flower pins).
- I didn’t use interfacing because I couldn’t iron this fabric, and the fabric was already stiff enough to hold its place.
- Doesn’t really press, so you need to fold and pin it in place
- When topstitching the outer collar, I found it easiest to start at the outer corners and work towards the centre back to stop it from twisting.
- The pattern tells you to sew the cuff from the inside, fold it over, and then topstitch. But I folded the cuff, placed it over the sleeve, and then sewed and turned it out, as I felt it gave this fabric a more professional finish.
