This digital sewing pattern shows you how to make 3 different sized quilted drawstring bucket bags, perfect for on-the-go knitting or sewing projects.
Final bag dimensions (height x width):
Small: 21cm x 12.5cm (8’’ x 5’’)
Medium: 26cm x 17cm (10’’ x 7’’)
Large: 34cm x 23cm (13’’ x 9’’)
This pattern is a digital download. The pattern and instruction booklet can be printed on a home printer and is compatible with both A4 and US letter paper. An A0 copy shop file will also be included in the download if you prefer to have it printed out on a large scale. The documents are written in English.
Fabric Needed:
(exact fabric amounts are listed in the instruction booklet and shown in the image on the listing)
Outer - Light - medium weight plain weave fabrics, such as quilters cotton, cotton poplin. Do not use heavy weight fabrics.
Wadding - Any mid loft wadding works well. For ease I use fusible wadding (Vilene H640). If you prefer a more padded look, choose a higher loft (thicker) wadding, although this can be difficult to work with.
Lining - Light/medium weight calico works well as a lining as it as a slight structure to it which helps the bag stand up. If you’d prefer a less structured look choose a lining similar to the outer in a lighter weight fabric.
*PRE-WASH your outer and lining fabric before cutting to prevent unwanted shrinkage*
