As many have already guessed, this month’s Dream Wardrobe is very special. That’s right—it’s our brand new pattern, the Fleur Dress and Blouse. All Dream Wardrobe subscribers will receive it a week or so before our official launch date of June 4th.

The Fleur dress & blouse is a versatile pattern with several options to help with customisation and fit. This pretty dress is the perfect addition to any Spring/Summer Wardrobe.

About the fabric:

Not only is the pattern an early exclusive, but the fabric is, too. This is our Le Weekend Viscose & Linen - Ivory, part of our mid-season Le Weekend collection. You will have received enough to sew either the sleeveless dress version or the blouse with sleeves.

About the pattern:

The Fleur dress and blouse are pretty and versatile patterns. The playful bow ties and gathered peplum add an element of fun to this garment. Plus, a secret placket stops you from showing more than you might want to between the bows! This is the perfect summer dress or blouse made in lightweight cotton or linen. You can also use a heavier-weight fabric and wear the sleeveless version as a pinafore dress in cooler weather.

The Fleur dress and blouse feature a bias-bound neckband and optional sleeves. The tie-front top means no fiddly zips or button holes. This pattern is designed for an advanced beginner dressmaker.

The Fleur is a loose-fitting dress and blouse. The waist seam sits just above your natural waist, and the skirt falls loosely, stopping at low calf length. The placket is designed to prevent you from showing more than you want to at the centre front. We have included 2 cup sizes – a B cup and a D cup; please see the ‘What size should you make?’ section on page 4 to see which is the correct cup size for you. We have also included 2 bodice shapes – one for the version with sleeves and one for the version without. The version with sleeves only has darts in the D cup. The sleeveless version has a side-bust dart in both the B and D cup to give it a better fit.

The instructions for this pattern can be found HERE.

Notions required:

The only thing you need to sew up your Fleur is the matching thread that we have included in this month’s Dream Wardrobe box.

As part of the Le Weekend collection, we have created our own labels, which we have included in the box for you. Add them to your Fleur and all of your spring clothing.

Are you unsure about sewing the Fleur pattern, or do you just think you’d like a few pointers? We are running 2 classes that may interest you.

Firstly, we have a supported sewing weekend, where you can bring along your Dream Wardrobe box and have help from Zoe, our excellent tutor. This is on August 3rd and 4th; you can book one or both days. Just book HERE

We will also be running a sew-your-own Fleur class, where you will be guided step by step through the process of sewing a Fleur dress or blouse. This class will be held on July 13th and 14th and will be available to book after the official pattern launch date, June 4th.
