What you will practice with this sewing pattern: how to assemble a neckline band, to make a button placket, to assemble different types of collars.
Age range: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 years
Fabric suggestions:
- Warm season: poplin, gingham, swiss dot, chambray, linen, double gauze, broderie anglaise, seersucker, viscose.
- Cold season: needle cord, soft denim, flannel, fine gabardine.
Supplies needed:
- Thin fusible interfacing
- Closing: buttons or snaps (diameters 10, 11, 12 mm)
- Optional decorations: ric rac, piping, lace. (1 to 2 meters for the collar)
The requirements for the versions with collar are based on the largest collars (squared collar and collar ruffle). For smaller collars (collar stand, shirt collar, flat collar, Peter Pan collar) the requirements can be slightly reduced.
