Difficulty:

Intermediate (2/5). If you have already sewn a whole garment, you will do great! This pattern only has 5 pieces and you will be guided throughout the process with a 20 pages fully illustrated booklet.

FABRIC CHOICE:

Knit fabric such as cotton, wool or polyester jersey. We recommend heavier knits (at least 180g per square meter) in order to hug curves while concealing undergarments lines. For the same reason we don’t recommend fluid jerseys such as viscose or silk. The fabric must have 30 to 50% horizontal stretch. To measure this, hold 10cm (or 2’’) of fabric in your fingers and stretch it horizontally as far as you can (without forcing) in front of a ruler to measure how much you can stretch it. If you can stretch these 10cm to 12cm (to 2.4’’), then you have a 20% stretch ; if you can stretch to 13cm (2.6’’), that’s 30% stretch, and so on.

Notions:

1m of clear elastic (narrow elastic, about 1/4’’ (6mm) wide) to stabilize neckline and create the neckline ruching. Finding clear elastic is not always easy: alternatively, you can use a narrow ribbon such as satin ribbon to stabilize neckline, and regular narrow elastic to create the ruching. Optional: 10cm of fusible interfacing for stretch fabrics.
