Description
**PLEASE NOTE: SEAM ALLOWANCES AND HEM ALLOWANCES NEED TO BE ADDED TO THIS PATTERN BEFORE YOU CUT YOUR FABRIC. DETAILS ON HOW MUCH TO ADD AND WHERE ARE INCLUDED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS**
The Kai blazer is fairly loose cut, but can be tightened with a belt to accentuate the waist. This blazer will help you help you through making a collar, lapels and bluff patch pockets.
Fabric advice
You can make the Kai blazer in a synthetic fabric, such as polyester or polyviscose. The good thing about these is that they don’t wrinkle. However, a disadvantage is that they don’t ‘breathe’, which means they don’t allow sweat through like natural fabrics (such as cottons, linens, or wool fabrics like tweed, flannel and delicate virgin wool). Use a solid fabric in a pastel or in a more vibrant colour (denim, yellow, green, etc.) or go for a print fabric. If you’d like to make a classic out of the blazer, be sure to go for a nice Glen check.
