The Courtney coat, with its grown-on sleeves, “shawl” style collar and pockets hidden in the front yoke, is a short coat for a dynamic and trendy style!

The Courtney coat pattern can be made with or without lining. You can adapt your creation according to your desire and depending on the fabric and style you want to give to the Courtney coat. The bias finish, for example, is particularly well suited to the use of double-sided fleece fabrics or pre-quilted fabrics
In both cases, the Courtney coat pattern offers a very clean finish. It is comprised of very few pattern pieces so is quick and fun to assemble.

Very slightly fitted at the back , you can wear the Courtney coat with a tie belt , available in the pattern, but also with a shop-bought belt, or without a belt entirely.

  • Pattern offered with lining version or braided version (finishing of seam allowances with bias)
  • Shawl Collar
  • Pockets taken in the seam of the front yoke
  • Tie belt
  • Back loops (optional)

fabric Requirements:

Unlined/bias-finished version:

Recommended yardage for a 140cm wide fabric:

  • T34: 250cm (*) / T36: 260cm (*) / T38 to 42: 280cm / T44 and 46: 290cm

NOTE:

If your fabric does not have a direction, you can position the facings in the front in the opposite direction to the Straight Grain because the material gain is significant. If your fabric has a direction, like velvet or if there is a print, stick to the standard placement (Straight Grain) to avoid creating an unsightly visual effect.

Yardage for a 140cm wide fabric and facings placed in the opposite direction to the grain:

  • T34 and 36: 230cm (*) / T38 and 40: 240cm (*) / T42 and 44: 250cm / T46: 280cm (*)
