DESCRIPTION
CLOUD is a versatile ruffle top and dress design inviting you to play with adding and removing tiers. You can make a top by only attaching the first tier, a midi dress with two tiers, or a floor-length gown by adding a third tier. CLOUD is the perfect pattern for beginners – you’ll learn how to sew a neckline facing and how to become a pro at making gathers.
PLEASE NOTE: This pattern was originally published in Issue No. 4 of TAUKO magazine. Note this pattern retains the original TAUKO instructions, which are less detailed than those of other Sewing Patterns by Masin designs.
FABRIC
CLOUD works best in non-stretch, light to medium weight woven fabrics. I prefer a stiff cotton fabric for this piece as it can hold its voluminous shape. Choose a rayon/viscose fabric if you want a more romantic, flowy look. You can also make the CLOUD dress in a sheer fabric such as chiffon and wear it over a simple slip dress for a more elegant look.
SIZING:
Choose your size based on your bust measurement. This dress is an oversized look. The recommended positive ease is 2–3"/5–8 cm at the bust.
