The Great British Sewing Bee - Series 9 Episode 6
Posted by Phoebe on 29th Jun 2023
It was Kid's week on the Great British Sewing Bee and what a fun week it was! Contestants had to sew terry towelling to make dinosaur dressing gowns, re-fashion children's denim jackets and finally, make a special occasion dress!
We thought the dinosaur dressing gowns were super cute! If watching this sparked your interest in sewing towelling, we have some great terry towelling options on the website that are perfect for sewing into garments! Our Stretch Terry Towelling has loops on one side and a knitted appearance on the reverse. Use it in a similar way to sweat shirting to make cool loungewear. You could colour block the different colours to make a fun shorts and sweatshirt co-ord. Perfect for holidays or staycations!
Stretch Terry Towelling - Sage Green
Stretch Terry Towelling - Pale Rose
Stretch Terry Towelling - Denim Blue
We loved the refashioning challenge and thought it would be the perfect way to use up some of your dressmaking scraps! Some of our ideas include adding a ruffle, making a corsage, adding patches and inserting fabric panels.
The final challenge really inspired us to look through all of our wonderful kid's dressmaking patterns on our website! We have some lovely dressmaking patterns that would be perfect for special occasions. We picked a few of our favourites that we think would be the perfect party outfit for any child in your life!
