This week's episode on The Great British Sewing Bee was a rollercoaster of silk, lace, and nerves as our talented sewers battled it out for a coveted spot in the quarter-finals. The theme was lingerie and the challenges definitely tested the skills of even the most competent sewists.

First up, the Pattern Challenge had our sewers creating a silky pyjama-style blouse. The contestants had to choose and work with a silky fabric and adding piping along the cuffs and front added a layer of complexity. We loved that 4 sewists chose Fabric Godmother fabrics to work with and they were perfect for this challenge!

Next, the Transformation Challenge threw a curveball with shapewear and lace. The sewers had to transform some old shapewear into completely new garments. Creativity was off the charts as they deconstructed and reinvented - the results were a mix of hits and misses, but always entertaining.

Finally, it was time for the Made-to-Measure Challenge. The sewers faced the daunting task of creating bustier dresses. Fitting these structured garments would be a challenge to even skilled sewists.
