Introducing Anna...

Posted by Fabric Godmother on 1st Jan 1970

Anna (As described by her fellow By Hand London lovelies)
A suburban London girl, with roots in Canada and India, Anna charms everyone she meets. Softly spoken and thoughtful, Anna has her head screwed on completely right, and above all values time with her friends, her family and her man. One of the first things you notice about Anna is her impeccable taste. Having studied as a fashion designer and worked as a stylist, she loves fashion, but sees it through an artful prism. A natural aesthete, her blog is full of quiet images of long hair, dreamy blurred detail and moody landscapes. She is never obvious, pairing a traditional feminine shape with a big clumpy black shoe and intricate gold rings. Excited about life and naturally curious she is always trying to learn new things. Which may explain why she manages to be a fashion illustrator, work as visual merchandiser for a big London department store and oh yes, has also set up her own leather accessories label. Basically, she’s one of those infuriatingly talented people that seems to simply be good at whatever she touches! Couple this with some sweetness and brains and you've got someone we’re damn proud to have as part of the gang.

Great news the new Anna dress pattern from the always new and inspiring By Hand London girls is just as fabulous as the Charlotte, Elisalex and the Victoria.
Once again these girls have pulled it out of the bag and given us a simple summer dress pattern. With its double pleated bust and A line skirt this will suit my shape perfectly. I love the slash neck version (it reminds me of the Peony neck which if you've been following my blog for a while will know I love, made here and here and in a video here) but they also do a v neck version. You can also make a long or short so it doesn't matter if you are  a maxi or a mini girl this pattern will see you though this summer we are finally getting.

The best bit, on the front cover there is a picture of just 1 little sewing machine, in By Hand London speak that means this pattern is easy peasy so an beginners our there can give this a good.

The pattern is available to buy here and keep your eyes open as we will be joining up with the by hand London girls shortly for a fabulous give away including a huge piece of fabric and pattern to make your very own Anna dress.
