PLEASE NOTE: Zero waste pattern cutting is a method of pattern drafting where you utilise a length of fabric end to end. This pattern is ‘PAPERLESS’ meaning that no printing of large pattern pieces is required. Instead of using full scale paper patterns, you draw your pattern pieces directly onto your fabric with the aid of a cutting plan and templates. FOR THE ZW BLOCK PANT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRINT 3 A4/US LETTER PAPER PAGES FOR YOUR TEMPLATES.
This is a zero waste pattern which comes in 10 sizes, XS-6XL. It has an attached waistband with inserted elastic and front pleats for a slightly tailored look. There is a feature seam line on the back legs, this placement is higher or lower on the leg depending on your chosen size. The side seams sit slightly into the front pant and there are concealed in-seam pockets at the front and patch pockets at the back. This pattern comes with one hack, a skirt with patch pockets and an elasticated waist.
Recommended Tools
Sewing machine, Iron, Chalk or dissolvable pen, Scissors, Measuring tape, Pins, Long straight ruler or right angle ruler to assist in cutting.
Fabric Type
Woven fabrics. Medium-heavy weight woven cotton and linen. Light -mid weight wool.
Notions
-5cm / 2” wide elastic for the waistband. Refer to cutting plan by size for measurement.
-3cm / 1.2” wide contrast bias binding strip to finish the inside of the waistband. Refer to cutting plan by size for measurement.
-Sizes 3XL-6XL may require an additional contrast panel added to your pocket bag pieces for extra length. This will depend on the fabric width you have chosen.
