Rupert is an unlined hip-length coat with a scarf permanently attached to the neckline. This pattern was exclusively designed to work with double face splittable coating fabrics.
Rupert has a loose-fitting straight cut. It features a dropped shoulder line, one-piece sleeve, front neck darts, front patch pockets, side seam slits and a single breasted closure at the centre front. The scarf has a centre back seam.
SUITABLE FABRICS
Medium to heavyweight double faced coating fabrics, can also be found named as splittable wool, bonded wool or double cloth wool.
Order a swatch to be sure you have the correct fabric.
Avoid single fabrics that cannot be split.
Small amount of lining fabric will be needed for the coat hanger.
